3. Explore The Maryland Science Center
If you have kids (or even just a nerdy side) you'll love the exhibits at the Maryland Science Center. This is another must-visit field trip destination for local schools. However, it's not just for locals or kids. There are exhibits and events for all ages this weekend at the Maryland Science Center.
4. Tour historic Fort McHenry
The star spangled banner, ever heard of it? Yep, it was written right here. Tour the historic fort and get a first hand glimpse into what it must have been like to see the rockets red glare, and bombs bursting in air. One of the best things about the fort is that it is peaceful, and far removed from the seedy elements that seem to permeate the rest of the city. If you're looking for things to do in Baltimore this weekend, be sure to check out Fort McHenry!
5. Visit the Baltimore Museum Of Art
Founded in 1914, the Baltimore Museum of Art prides itself on being the go-to destination for seeing fine art in Baltimore. They have a wide variety of critically acclaimed art pieces, from drawings and paintings, to sculptures, and even jewelry. If you need things to do in Baltimore this weekend, see the galleries or attend an event at the Baltimore museum of art.
6. Tour the American Visionary Art Museum
The American Visionary Art Museum is the nation's museum for intuitive, self-taught artistry. If you like funky, psychedelic art (or substances) and are looking for fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend, well... You can see where this is going! Visit the American Visionary art museum and see some of the wild exhibits you cannot see anywhere else.
7. Visit The Baltimore Museum Of Industry
The Baltimore Museum of Industry, also known as BMI, tells the story of Baltimore's working history. As one of the East Coast's major port cities, there has always been plenty of work to do, and lots of world-shaping innovations took place right here in Baltimore. Learn about the history of industry in Baltimore by making this one of your fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend.
8. Attend a Baltimore Orioles or Ravens Game
9. Go out to eat at a local Baltimore restaurant
Baltimore has tons of great local restaurants, so if you are looking for fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend, you'd be hard-pressed to have a bad time going out to eat. Just figure out what neighborhood you'll be spending time in, and whip out the old Google maps. Just be sure to pick a place with decent reviews, and you'll be sure to enjoy your time.
10. Go out to a concert or live music performance
Speaking of fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend, you could always go see a concert or musical performance at one of Baltimore's many concert venues, or performing arts centers. Whether you pick Rams Head Live, Baltimore Soundstage, the 8x10, or any of the other venues, if you enjoy live music, you'll love the night life in Baltimore!
11. Count abandoned houses
If you've made it this far in the list, you're probably a really boring person, or just flat broke. In either case, you may consider other fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend like counting abandoned houses, or "bandos" as some locals like to call them. This activity alone could not only fill up your entire weekend, but you could probably keep counting for months, or maybe even years. Baltimore is full of abandoned houses, and nobody truly knows just how many there are. That's what would make it so cool if you counted them!
12. Visit an open air drug market
Things are really going down hill for you fast if you're considering this activity. However, it only takes being in Baltimore for about 30 seconds to realize that many residents consider this one of the top fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend. If you want to visit an open air drug market in Baltimore, no matter where you are, you won't have to go far. Just look for a group of teenagers loitering obnoxiously in the doorway of a run down corner store. You can't miss them, there are usually 5-10 of them intimidating anyone who dares trying to support a local neighborhood business (which is why there are so few left here.)
13. Wheelie a dirt bike through oncoming traffic
While not technically legal, it's clear that one of the best fun things to do in Baltimore this weekend is wheelie a 2-stroke dirt bike (with no registration, of course) the wrong way down a busy street. A favorite activity of restless teenagers throughout the city, you can find the largest groups of dirt bikers riding around on Sundays. Apparently the cops aren't allowed to chase these dudes, so it's kind of like a free-for-all. It would all be super cool, except many of them endanger innocent kids and families by riding through parks and sidewalks.
14. Mug a tourist in broad daylight
Go ahead, you'll definitely get away with it; it happens all the time! Even if they catch you and you have a rap sheet of felonies 37 pages long, they'll let you out the next day. That's just how Baltimore rolls. It's not your fault you chose to engage in criminal behavior; you're underprivileged! So if you're looking for fun things to do in Baltimore This weekend, send a message to those gentrifying Baltimore by snatching one of their Iphones: We don't want anyone with money moving to Baltimore!
15. Purchase a stolen firearm
Look, the truth is you are going to have a really hard time getting a concealed carry permit in Maryland. But don't worry, you can buy an illegal, unregistered handgun with the serial number scratched off in almost any back alley in Baltimore in a matter of minutes; no background check required! It will probably come freshly tested, and still warm when you get it. It may even be hot and have a few bodies on it, who knows. It's almost like the criminals don't give a damn about the gun laws, and they only end up disarming good guys...
